Video Recap: January 24th 2014

Friday January 24th was the inaugural Sound Check Sessions at The Bucket Brewery.  I started the night out early with m’lady, and we had QUITE the adventure.  Secret Sage started the night at the brewery, the four piece acoustic act definitely impressed the crowd:

After the early show at the brewery we ventured down the road to The Met for the Perform the Midday Social Contest.

Nicole and I arrived at The Met to catch the tail end of Escape Pod‘s set.  I was impressed by the four younger lads laying down some harder psychedelic rock:

After a short set break MCed by none other than Mark Charron of Satellites Fall and Middday Records, Echos of Petra took to the stage. They seemed a bit more seasoned than the previous contestant and they made DAMN sure everyone knew their name was Echos of Petra, at least twice per song.

The October Accord were the next act the the stage, a five piece pop-punk band based in the Worcester area. These contestants were again younger and a little wet behind the ears but backed a sonic punch. The front woman was cute and had great vocals but her stage presence was a bit out-shined by the abundantly active bassist.

We meandered across town next to my favorite venue and bar, The Spot Underground to catch The High and Mighty Brass Band, a powerhouse horn band visiting from Brooklyn. They Brought the house down.
