Tunes Around Town – Shows May 15th – May 17th

TONS of great tunes around this weekend, especially tonight. Buckle down and get out on the town!

Friday May 15th

  • Providence – Gravity Works and The Brew at Jerky’s. The Brew’s first trip to RI in a while, moderately sized club, good rocky/poppy/jam scene tonight. (Trying to Attend)
  • Providence – World Threat (experimental Hip-Hop), Blue Ribbon (synth/rock pop), Last One Standing (modern rock) and Harpoon (classic rocky/jammy) at AS220. Big lineup of varying styles, AS220 is a small, artsy venue, good eats if you get there early enough. I’ve seen Harpoon before and enjoyed their set, can’t claim I’ve heard of any of the other acts.
  • Providence – Zig Zag at The City Cafe.  Small venue, acoustic show, originals and covers I suspect.
  • Providence – Cartune Heroes at Ri Ra.  Fun Irish pub, Cartune Heroes provide exciting classic rock covers.
  • Narragansett – Rotary Trio and Formal Action at The Wheelhouse, a medium sized venue.  Rotary Trio is bluesy jam rock, Formal Action is a little harder, psychedelic jam reggae.
  • Narragansett – Daniel Chase at The Bon Vue Inn, probably playing downstairs, acoustic singer songwriter.

Saturday May 16th

  • Providence – Daniel Chase and Andrea Belanger at the Brooklyn Coffee and Tea House.  Two acoustic singer/songwriters worth checking out.  Starts at 7:30pm. (Trying to Attend)
  • Bellingham – GROW at The Patriot’s Bar and Grill in Bellingham, MA, haven’t seen GROW or been to this venue, they seem like funk rock hip-hop from their myspace songs. Starts at 8pm

Sunday May 17th

  • Bridgeport – Jose Docen at The Acoustic Cafe.  Unique singer songwriter, soulful, folky, check out the show if you are in CT

Give me a Headsup if I missed your show!
