I ventured out for a rare Wednesday right after work to catch Smith&Weeden at Brown Street Park. A few times a summer Providence Parks hosts a live show in the small community park behind Hope High School. The S&W boys were in rare form adjusting their songs for an all ages audience.

It was another Friday night adventure, and what an adventure at that! I started the night out at The Bucket Brewery for their Sound Check Series, this week featured two Massachusetts based acts, Joe Touchette III and The Van Burens.
I was lucky enough to win tickets for Joe Fletcher and the Wrong Reasons at Fete, for the very same night, during the traditional Bucket Brewery raffle.

My best bud HMSZarro text-ed me the night before asking if I’d be interested in occupying his second complimentary ticket to the Newport Folk Fest, of course I jumped at the chance. We arrived late in the day during Deer Tick‘s final song. Never having attended the Folk Fest in person we wandered the grounds for a while running into friends and awaited Jack White‘s killer set.

Pearl Lounge was my destination this fantastic Friday evening. It was my first time to this venue and I was quite impressed. While the inside looked like your typical dance club slash restaurant, the back patio that hosted the live show was bright and cheery with lights and projectors and a veritable circus tent. The evening consisted of P. Lowe and his band, with Chachi sitting in for a few tunes.

This fine Friday night happened to be the 5th Anniversary Celebration for SullysCafe.com at The Spot Underground, and a wealth of talented musicians helped us celebrate. Sarah Ault and Mary Scholz opened the night, on tour together across the country, they graced the den stage and enchanted the audience with their sounds.

This special Tuesday evening was a Celebration of Dave Lamb at the Columbus Theatre, only a few short days after his passing, many of his friends and fans were in attendance while some of Dave’s favorite local bands paid tribute. Tom Weyman, manager of Brown Bird started the night off with a few words.
