This special Saturday evening I had the pleasure of making it out to two great venues in the Providence area. Smith&Weeden‘s self titled album release was being held at AS220, The Sun Parade, visiting from Northampton, kicked off the night:
Ravi Shavi was next to take the stage. I’d heard a lot about them but this was the first time I had a chance to see them live, quite impressive:
Tons of great shows this weekend, including a long anticipated album release and an intimate home show.
This fine Friday night I made it over to The Spot Underground to catch my out of state buddies in Manifested in from Pennsylvania. It was a really stacked bill with EatUraura playing double sets in the den and local heroes Trails slaying at the end of the night.

Re-Creation Tuesday at The Spot Underground is always a joyous and eclectic occasion but this Tuesday in particular was in celebration of our venerable co-host, Josh Willis‘, Birthday. The night started lightly with the sweet baritone serenades of Ted Staples:

A wealth of great shows all over New England this weekend. Get out on the town and enjoy some of the tunes played for you!
M’lady and I ventured over to DUSK this beautiful Sunday afternoon to enjoy Music For Paws. The charitable event was organized by Davey Moore of Midday Records and Tracy Garrity of VulGarrity and ran most of the afternoon. I stayed for sets from Nate Cozzolino and Tammy Laforest.

Trying to behave, I made this Friday night a one show night. I ventured out to Pawtucket for a great show at The Met I heard about last minute. Torn Shorts and Coyote Kolb were slated to take the stage, and both brought the heat to small but appreciative crowd.
