Tunes Around Town – July Starts with a Bang!

Here we are July finally, and quite an exciting month of music indeed!

Starting the month off right last night Madonna and Child and FRIT graced the stage at The Wheelhouse in Narragansett.  I wish I was able to make it down to enjoy the show.

If you haven’t gotten out to a show yet, July is your chance there is so much music, I don’t know where to begin! Okay, well we’ll start with Tonight as its only logical.

Friday July 3^rd

BRISTOL – Rotary Trio is performing at The Topside Lounge

BRISTOL – Fungus Amungus at Aiden’s Pub

NARRAGANSETT– The Wheelhouse will be hosting Ben Defusco and CHOPS at 6pm, presumably acoustic then at 9pm Formal Action opening for Roz Raskin and the Rice Cakes

Saturday July 4^th

PROVIDENCE– Kris Hansen at the Smith Hill Library, Liberty Fest 12pm

PAWTUCKET – The Chelsy Lau Band at The Blackstone 9pm

WAKEFIELD – Funk Nugget’s highly anticipated return to the stage and CD release party at The Ocean Mist this is going to be a MUST SEE Crazy Funky Jam of a Fourth of July Celebration. (*Attending)

Sunday July 5^th – Saturday July 11^th

PROVIDENCE Sound Sessions – New England’s premier “Genre-Defying Music Festival.” There are events through the city of Providence all week, some free and family friendly, and some with a reasonable cover charge at night for the party people. All events have been added to the Sully’s Cafe show calendar, if you go to the Sound Sessions website, be sure to click “VIEW SS’09 LINEUP” located in the red rectangle at the upper right for FULL details on events. ALRIGHTY THEN, that takes us through the first two weeks of outstanding music coming up around the area.
